Short-term study
  • You’re doing a short course of study in the UK
  • You’re from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland

The Tier 1 (Investor) visa category is for high net worth individuals making a substantial financial investment in the UK. You must have access to at least £2,000,000 (£2 million) in investment funds to apply for Tier 1 Investor visa. If the money is not held in pounds sterling you must convert its value into pounds sterling on the application form. The Home Office, UKVI will check the conversion using the exchange rate shown on the Oanda website on the date on which the application was made.

You need a Standard Visitor visa if you’re an academic visitor!
You can stay in the UK for the length of your course or research.
You may be allowed to stay an extra 30 days if your total stay in the UK would be no more than 6 months, or no more than 11 months if you’re both:


  • 16 or over
  • Studying an English language course
Fees

It costs:
1. £97 for a 6 month visa
2. £186 for an 11 month visa
3. BANK STATEMENT of pounds1256 per month. PKR 3,339,600 yearly


How long it takes


  • You can apply for a visa up to 3 months before your date of travel to the UK.
  • You should get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks when you apply from outside the UK.

Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK if you’re 16 or over and:
  • If you have been offered a place on a course
  • If you can speak, read, write and understand English
  • If have enough money to support yourself and pay for your course - the amount will vary depending on your circumstances
  • If you are from a country that’s not in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland
Fees
  • It costs £348 to apply for this visa from outside the UK
  • You must pay £348 per person for any dependents.
Tier 4 (Child) student visa if you’re aged between 4 and 17 and you want to study at an independent school in the UK.

You must also:

  • Have a place on a course
  • Have the consent of your parent or guardian
  • Have enough money to cover your course fees and living costs
  • Be from a country that’s not in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland
Fees
  • It costs £348 to apply for a Tier 4 (Child) student visa from outside the UK.
  • You’ll also have to pay the healthcare surcharge as part of your application.
To be eligible for a Tier 4 student visa, you must:
  • Have an unconditional offer of a place on a course with a licensed Tier 4 sponsor
  • Be able to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Have enough money to support yourself and pay for your course.
Applying for your visa online

You must apply for your student visa application online using the British Government’s official Gov.UK website (unless you are applying from North Korea, in which case you can use a hardcopy form).
You can apply up to three months before your intended date of travel to the UK. Your application date is the date when your application fee is paid.


Documents required for Tier 4 student visa
When applying for your Tier 4 visa, you will generally need:
  • A current passport or other valid travel documentation
  • Evidence of funds to provide your living expenses for the duration of your course
  • Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) reference number and documents used to obtain CAS
  • Passport-sized colour photograph
  • Tuberculosis screening (if required)
  • Assessment documentation
  • Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) clearance certificate (if required)
Additional documents may also be needed if you are:
  • Not a citizen of the country you are applying from
  • Under 18 years of age
  • Have family (dependents)

If any of your supporting documents is not in English, you will need to have it translated. Each translated document must be dated, and include the translator's name and signature and confirmation that it is an accurate translation of the original document.
